Tell The Right Story

Have you ever struggled to tell your client’s story with the conviction and passion it deserves?

Have you ever considered the fact that you might be telling the wrong story?

The key to compelling storytelling in the courtroom starts with embracing your own story.

Victim to Victor: Lessons From The Stage for Trial Lawyers is a dynamic and immersive 2-day workshop designed to help you unlock your personal narrative and use it to amplify your client’s victor story.

WHY THIS WORKSHOP?

The core question we address is: How can you tell your client’s story if you haven’t embraced yours?  By discovering and developing your own victor story, you’ll find the connection, empathy, and inspiration needed to tell your client’s story more powerfully and authentically. This process not only strengthens your narrative skills but also enhances your ability to present a more compelling damages story in court.

In this workshop, you will be challenged as both Director and Storyteller to find a more powerful way of communicating and presenting your client’s Victor Story.

What is The Victim to Victor Approach?

The Central Damages Theme of Your Client’s Story IS The Victor Story

When it comes to trial, most plaintiffs and defendants will painfully cast themselves in the wrong role they believe the jury needs to see them as. Why? Because they are “the victims.”

This is the wrong role and that’s 100% on you – the director, storyteller, producer, trial lawyer – to cast your client in the right role. That role is always as the victor.

Being “stuck in the wrong role” will often be the difference between winning and losing your case.

Your job is to remove the mask for who your client really is at their core. When you do this, in turn you remove your own mask for who your jurors need to see you as, and you set up a more powerful damage model. Don’t get caught in the Victim Trap yourself … it’s easier than you think.

Working With The Mask

The mask does not conceal. It reveals.

Non-verbal communication is a doorway into the most vital skill the trial lawyer can ever grow to master: more than strictly great storytelling, the lawyer must master the art of human connection, one of the most important and most often ignored trial skills there is. Here is the place to sharpen your storytelling skills and greatest storytelling instrument- YOU- through the use of The Character and Neutral Mask.

When it comes to removing the mask of your client to discover their deep emotional truth, it requires imagination, collaboration, trust, and courage to be able to look deeper into the light of who they are…but mainly it requires you to know what you’re even looking for in the first place. Your job is to help remove your client’s mask before depositions are even taken. And that begins with discovering how they need to be seen in the right story you are telling.

That means you have to look deeper. That means you have to look beneath the mask.

Here’s the place to remove that mask… for both you and your client.

This will be an experience you will never forget.
